TDK Dreams, self-titled, was my first attempt at creating the traditional form of vaporware. The catch was that there were no samples used. I simply tried to create original compositions which emulated the kind of melodies and beats that one might find in a typical vaporware album. Funnily enough, I was rather new to the genre and had no idea that it was largely plunderphonics until after I finished this album.
Not content to just aimlessly experiment, I created a story in my head that follows along with the songs. I imagined a young couple in the early 90s who were living paycheck-to-paycheck. They set a goal of saving enough money to take a nice vacation to an expensive, seaside hotel. This album expresses their special night as they get to take a relaxing break from the stress of every day life.
